Training at Diamond follows a clear, structured path — from your first month to Drills and eventually Open Sparring.

This pathway is completely optional. Many people train purely for fitness, fun, confidence, and community — with zero pressure to move into Drills or Sparring. This roadmap simply exists for those who enjoy progression and want a clear guide for advancing at their own pace. There is no expectation, no timeline, and no requirement — you set your own path, and we support you at every level.

Rule of thumb: 3 months → Drills. 6 months → Sparring.

The 3-Stage Progression

0–3 Months: Beginners + All Levels

  • Learn stance, guard & basic punches
  • Build round kicks, teeps, knees
  • Pad work foundations
  • Partner drill confidence

3–6 Months: Intermediate Drills

  • Defense → counter patterns
  • Timing & distance control
  • Partner flow training
  • Ring movement & footwork

6+ Months: Open Sparring

  • Strategy & timing
  • Controlled contact practice
  • Composure under pressure
  • Real-time application

Phase One — Beginners & All Levels (0–3 Months)

  • Build foundations in stance, guard & balance
  • Learn jab, cross, hooks, knees & teeps
  • Pad work basics + partner drills
  • Run 2–3×/week to build conditioning

Phase Two — Intermediate Drills (3–6 Months)

  • Defense → counter combinations
  • Parries, blocks, checks
  • Intermediate pad flow
  • Timing, distance, rhythm

Requirements:

  • 3 months All Levels completed
  • Shin guards + elbow pads
  • Coach approval

Phase Three — Open Sparring (6+ Months)

  • Timing & distance in real time
  • Strategy & composure
  • Technical, controlled rounds

Requirements:

  • 3 months Drills completed
  • Full gear
  • Coach approval

Important: This entire pathway is optional. You can train at Diamond purely for fitness, fun, community, or personal development — with no pressure to move into Drills or Sparring. Every training goal is valid, and every member belongs here, no matter their pace or destination.

Diamond Muay Thai + Boxing is a locally owned gym located in the heart of Leslieville, Toronto.


We offer beginner to advanced Muay Thai, boxing, and kickboxing classes seven days a week in a supportive and community-driven environment.


Our
6,000 sq. ft. facility features experienced coaches, structured programs, and a

welcoming atmosphere for all levels—from first-time students to competitive athletes.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Monday to Thursday 6-9p.m

Friday 6–7:30 p.m

Saturday 10 a.m.–2 p.m

Sunday 11 a.m.–12 p.m
